CONTROL INFRA-RED DEVICES
Step 2: Control one or more infra-red devices using the home automation application on your phone.
Swap a light switch for a smart plug

If your purchased the trial kit from smikbox this will be included.

Plugin the RM 1 Blackbean and allow at least 60 seconds to get its IP address from network

Add the blackbean controller using App

Add a remote for any of your household devices that currently use an infra-red remote (TV, DVD, Air conditioner etc)

Select the device (if its already available from the menus) or make a new a remote controller template for the device

Progressively teach the Blackbean each of the remote controller buttons you want it to use

Add other infra-red controlled devices that are in direct line of sight of where you will position the Blackbean

If there are other places in the house you want to controll other infra-red devices use a second or third blackbean in each location so its in direct line of site of the device it will control

Save these settings to the cloud backup

Make your phone discoverable and transfer the set up to another phone/tablets
