Step 6: Add sensors to Doors, windows and passage ways

Purchase: Broadlink security kit
I used a smikbox S1 Smart home kit

Add home sensors for opening of doors windows, for both security, convenience (turns on lights for you) and to know the movements of family members (are the kids home yet?)

The sensors are very easy to install with self adhesive tape supplied in the box. Just turn the devices on and the home controller App will detect and connect the devices.
​
Don't be concerned that the door window sensors use batteries, because they are very low power consumption and will last a very long time, so if you change them every 12 months it should be sufficient.
​
The remote controller included is to turn on/off the device when entering and leaving the home. This is of most use where you have linked the security to an external security monitoring service.
